While I'm a fan of the Great Bong, I have to agree with Anshu Datta on a few points. An impetus to the Naxal/Maoist movement in the form of public support has been provided by the corruption of the government. Many of the Naxals are the voiceless poor. Their reaction is understandable. Illegal mining, poverty, illiteracy, what kind of a life is that? Are we to be exploited by our own government? Most of this will die down if the government decides to do its duty: Bring facilities to affected areas, educate them, create employment. What disgusts me is the greed and unconcern of our government. They are seeing the country shatter, our neighbours are egging it on, but our leaders don't give a damn. @Ankit Podar: "Poverty, or unfairness does not erode the morality of human beings, and nor does the fight for survival." Come to real life, every day you read stories in newspapers of people facing "opression, depression and suppresion everywhere in India, just because they are born in a so called low-caste. And if you dont believe it....go to any slightly backward area and say you are from any lower caste and see the treatment you will get. Just making mockery of everything is not a solution.
