I love Parnab Mukherjee. In fact, I am such a big fan of his that I am actually thinking of spending $5.46 to buy his picture and take a print out for personal use.
So why do I love Parnab Mukherjee? Because I, being a parochial Bong trying desperately to hold onto our “What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow” intellectual leadership, consider Parnab to be the “Last Renaissance Man”—the dying flickering flame of a cultural conflagration that once made Bengal the thought leader of India.
Did I just call him the last “Great Bong” ? Please expunge that part from the records.
