    Shoaib’s expression is priceless!

  3. dipanjan's avatar

Remember Inti’s main problem was Shoaib’s active sex life. Now we have proof of Shoaib taking a more, erm, passive position. Makes sense to bring him back.

the other guy is not even looking at the revelpindi express. Now that’s degrading.

    LMAO !!!
We all visit Cricinfo once in a while but if there is someone who can choose what to pick up from them (to show it to people who missed it) and what not to…it must be YOU !!! 😀

  8. partha's avatar

cricinfo is trying to diversify its revenue channel !!

  9. sang.froid's avatar

rawalpindi express is quite a swinger.. hmmm 😀
anyways, i’m guessing that david dhawan probably works at Cricinfo, he thinks he can still get a way with those double meaning dialogues of his.

Marhabba! GB, you’re bang on target!

Butt seriously, I like this ANALogy! Shoaib should change his name to Sodom Hussein. The photo is ideal given his “back” door entry to the team. I suppose every “doggie” has its day!

    Heh

Cricinfo now does “Cricket porn”! Hahahahahahaha 🙂

  13. rahulghosh's avatar

    C’mon guys!

Just because they run a cricket website does not mean that these guys are not supposed to have a sense of humour. Cricket reporting is a tough job, especially with the kind of form that the Indian team seems to enjoying. Made even more difficult with SG being the top scorer and a national selector criticizing RD’s captaincy skills.

So once in a while these guys at MG Road like to let their ‘guard’ down.

  14. Unknown's avatar

    @rahulghosh

Very good comment. Funny but sensible. Sums up the present state of affairs in the cricinfo office quite aptly. 😀

  15. Unknown's avatar

    haha hahahaaaaaaaa

Remember the headline “Rawalpindi express derailed by Mumbai express”?

    Now:

“Rawalpindi express being repaired in the backyard” 😉

@All: Makes you feel sorry for the poor SOD. O MY ! I am getting a bit emotional here. The fact that the guy at the back doesnt even look at Akthar is all the more tragic. Maybe the man is singing “Sexy Back”:

    I’m bringing sexy back
Them other boys don’t know how to act
I think you’re special whats behind your back
So turn around and i’ll pick up the slack

While Shoaib hums his new submissive avtar to Inzi:

    Dirty babe
    You see these shackles
    Baby I’m your slave
I’ll let you whip me if I misbehave

No wonder he is “back” in the team !

  21. S. Pyne's avatar

Let’s analize the snapshot further: from Shoaib’s facial expression, is it a moment of “out” or of “in”?

  22. Unknown's avatar

    Yourfan writes:
    @GB: You devil!

  23. Anirban's avatar

Just see the effect. Shoaib declared “out” of the first test. Tired to play cricket after his other games?

  24. shadows's avatar

    Nice one 🙂

Wait till Inzamam gets his chance.

  25. Unknown's avatar

Shoaib looks like he’s imitating the trademark MGM lion growling…
but any1 in his position might have the same expression.

    And yeah! sex sells…
next they’ll be postin videos of ‘cricket porn’!

    hey GB,

I only recently started reading blogs ( nothing to do when college closes down for the winter break ) and read some amazing blogs, very well written and great humor. i wanted to posts comments on the old ones, but wasnt sure you would go through them again. I truly enjoy your writing and look forward to reading many more in the future.

dude you just costed me a friggin laptop. was laughing so hard at your blogs – 1900 hotties and the cricket blogs -that i first dropped sodas, then pizzas !! still great stuff man. i wonder how you did in school in english papers. coming from an icse board -cbse english is a joke – we had to write essays and the topics as pointless as they come, but with the sense of humor you have i bet you must have aced em…keep up the great job !!

  31. VonRunstedt's avatar

Supratim Srinivasan @ “coming from an icse board – cbse english is a joke”

You might want to type in proper case (atleast start your sentences with capital letters) wherever appropriate. And, split up the post in paragraphs if necessary.

Just a couple of friendly tips from a lowly CBSE passout to make your ICSE certified post more readable.

  32. Shan's avatar

    @Von Rundstedt: lol

@Supratim: Can you please translate your erudite missive into plain English? We CBSE types have difficulty understanding. Oh, and type slowly as well; we can’t read fast.

  33. Kailas's avatar

Gr8 Bong is on target again…
    Great.

  34. Blumentritt's avatar

@Von Rundstedt: Although I second most of what you say (naturally), don’t you think you were a little excessive on poor Supratim? The boy was just trying to be nice to GB. Anyway I think all this talk about boards must be making GB smile a bit because GB has not only finished his boards and his JEE ages ago, but GRE, TOEFL and undergrad, grad, qualifiers, Comprehensive Exams, Proposal defense, Thesis Defense and then a score of unseen referee papers. I doubt if he even remembers the boards, much less English I and II or whatever. I don’t even think poor Supratim does, he writes in a faux wannabe Arkansas accent, isn’t that cause enough for taking it easy on the poor guy?

Wow, I had no idea that posting a comment on a blog would invoke such strong feelings. I apologise to all the CBSE passouts, but I would also like to add that the contents of the english book was not of the best standards. But then again that is just my personal opinion and I did not mean any harm.

  37. VonRunstedt's avatar

    Blumentritt@

I’m not sure about the chaps age. We can overlook indiscretion of youth, but I’ve seen really grown up ICSE/Convent school backgrounders harbouring such attitude.
CBSE’s pick of literary works is much more varied than ICSE (hence the “commoners” content laden books 🙂 ). Beside that, CBSE caters to a heterogenous population group of varied socio-economic catchment.

Anyway, I like your username. Gen. Blumentritt served under Field Marshal Runstedt as a staff officer of the German Army’s Western command facing the Allied Forces from 1943-1945.

    Supratim@
Take it easy. I believe it is the quality of teachers and emphasis on grammer that helps with grasp over language. CBSE have them. You may note further, that to acquire mastery over language one needs to practice it a lot i.e. reading and writing good quality literature. A lot of CBSE passouts do that too.

  38. Blumentritt's avatar

@von Rundstedt: This nick was chosen especially to honour you. I have enjoyed your comments most thoroughly. It is the nature of Greatbong’s great blog that he draws out such great comments from his fans that the fans end up having their fans. Keep commenting.

  39. VonRunstedt's avatar

@Blumentritt: So, we share a common interest. History atleast, if not military history. Nice to know, may our tribe increase 🙂

  40. Unknown's avatar

Hmm….:)…nice discussion about ICSE and CBSE. I am from the former and a very proud one at that, like Supratim. The irony is that GB’s high school is neither affiliated to ICSE nor CBSE. He is from a very reputed school in Kolkata, South Point which is affiliated to the Madhyamik board. Again, it shows that a great curriculum is not a guarantee to learning the language well. More than teachers, I feel that it is the exposure of a person through books, newspapers and other visual media which makes one comfortable with a language which is not his/her mother tounge.

The nitpicking on Supratim’s writing was a bit harsh I feel. He had just had a great moment of his life…like the first kiss…the first day of school…first drink of alcohol…first porn film…first smoke of pot/ insufflation of coke….its just the first time he read 1-900-Hotties. As he writes, he got high and dropped his pizza and sprite on his laptop. Now he surely can’t be blamed for that. 🙂

VonRunstedt @ I am 19. Well I studied in the northern part of India and did my 11th and 12 th std in a CBSE board and I can assure you that the quality of teaching was really poor. The empahsis on grammer was totally lost. Often teachers took to teaching and explaining the lessons in hindi, which in retorspect seems a better option than teaching in faulty grammer.

Thank you for the tip and yes I will try and improve my writing skills as much as I can.

  42. Unknown's avatar

    @Supratim Srinivasan :
Just to fine tune your ‘icse’ (ICSE) certified English Skills, there is one more thing I would like to point out … it’s not ‘costed’ , it’s always ‘cost’. Hence, the sentence would have been ‘dude you just cost me a friggin laptop’.

  43. Unknown's avatar

    oops…that anon was me…

The sentence would have been ‘dude you just cost me a friggin laptop’.

I think while its certainly not a ‘decent’ sense of humour, but cmon man! I think that those guys were trying to have some fun & probably were innocently naughty about it ….

But methinks, that the buck also has to be passed onto Shoaib & his partner – that they managed to strike a pose in tandem in that particular position with their bodies thus intertwined & with Shoaib quite obviously grimacing (either with pain or due to pleasure??) is certainly invitation enough for even the most timid of us to snap a picture or two!

But seriously, mebbe its just a thing that should be seen to be believed!
